The Gdynia Aquarium, which since 2005 has the status of a zoo, are outlined four main habitats occurring in the world: coral reefs, ocean depths, dense tropical Amazon and the Baltic Sea. Their residents can meet over the three floors of the building, located in 68 aquariums exhibition. Tank capacity ranges from 200 to 10,000 liters, in which there are over 1500 of living organisms about 250 species.
Aquarium is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the country, which has the longest tradition associated with the collection and exhibition of aquatic fauna and flora. Belonging to the structures of the Sea Fisheries Institute in Gdynia, which is the oldest unit dedicated to the research of the sea in Poland, the Aquarium presents interesting specimens grown in artificial conditions.
The biggest attraction of the zoo is a coral reef that delights with variety of colors and shapes of the wealth of the inhabitants of intriguing marine invertebrates such as sea cucumbers, starfish and sea urchins, lionfish, moray eels,clown fish and many, many others.
